Fresh Eggs For Sale  $1.75 Dozen
Life on the farm seems to go from one extreme to the other. With having rain for 23 days straight in a row it sure reeked havoc in our fields and on our fences.  It washed away one of our corn fields so it will have to be replanted. It's too late now for corn so Roger is going to put Milo in. We had our crops sprayed yesterday, the grass is growing like crazy between the rows.  The first cutting of alfalfa is coming off the field. We had it all sold before it went into the bale. Always thankful for that.  If the rain will hold off we need to get soybeans planted. The wheat has been so wet it's yet to be seen how it will do. What is it the farmer always says "Ah It'll be better next year!"  I wish I had a dollar for every time I have heard that!  We will be loading a semi this afternoon with small square bales of prairie hay that is going to Penrose, Colorado.  This will be the second load for these folks, really nice people.
The cattle are really enjoying the sunshine! We had the bulls tested so they will be ready to service the gals soon.  We bought a bull from our good friends at Thorne Ranch to put on our replacement heifers. This bull is going to be a huge asset to our program!  We're in the process of getting some of the cows ready to be artificially inseminated, along with getting the herds all vaccinated and wormed.  Daniel hauled two loads of steers Monday, one to Tulsa and one to Joplin.
The calves that sold at Joplin brought a better price, they averaged 800 pounds and brought .98 cents a pound.
It's time to head to the Chicken coop to gather the eggs. Saturdays we usually sell out. Nothing like farm fresh eggs for breakfast as you sit on your back porch and watch mother natures beauty in all it's glory.

With all the nice weather we've been having Roger has gotten the milo planted and the fields worked to plant the soybeans.
Got our first meadow of hay cut down which will probably bale this afternoon.
We got the wonderful news that our son Daniel and his wife Nichole will be giving us another grandson!  We are so excited it's a boy! I think in Roger and Daniels minds they just see another tractor and dozer driver!
